Carol Knott


Head of Monitoring and Nurse Training

Carol Knott is the Head of Monitoring and International Nurse Coordinator. She has almost twenty years’ experience of setting up and running large international randomised trials, initially with the Medical Research Council, and since 2003 she has worked at CTSU on the trials run by the Heart Studies Group and the Renal Studies Group. In addition to providing training and support to study site staff, Carol coordinates and manages several teams of remote monitors based around the world. She has been involved in a variety of audits and inspections by regulatory bodies such as MHRA, BfArM, Health Canada and US FDA. She has been instrumental in developing new methods for the on-site, process and central monitoring of studies and has a particular interest in the application of Risk-based Monitoring internationally.
